(The need and utility of preserving the Maithili language)
बहुत पैघ प्रसन्नताक खबरि अछि जे प्रवासी मैथिल लोकनिक एक महत्वपूर्ण संस्था “वैदेही मिथिलाधाम, वडोदरा, गुजरात” द्वारा मैथिली भाषा आ साहित्य संग समग्र संस्कृति, कला आ मैथिल वैशिष्ट्यक संरक्षण, संवर्धन आ प्रवर्धन निमित्त समुचित डेग उठायल जा रहल अछि। आयोजक वैदेही मिथिलाधाम (वडोदरा, गुजरात) द्वारा “Mithiladham Litfest 2024, 17-18 February 2024′ एसएसजी मेडिकल कालेज, मेन आडिटोरियम वडोदरा मे आयोजित होमय जा रहल अछि। जानिकय बहुत बेसी प्रसन्नता भेटत जे एहि कार्यक्रमक उद्देश्य भारतीय राज्य गुजरातक विभिन्न क्षेत्र मे स्थापित मैथिल समाज संग पूरे विश्व भरिक मैथिलीभाषी समाज केँ अपन भाषा-साहित्यक एकसूत्र मे जोड़बाक प्रेरणा संचरण करबाक लेल ई लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल राखल गेल अछि।
मैथिली भाषा-साहित्यक काज मे सदिखन समर्पित आ आगू रहनिहार लेखक-कवि-संस्कृतिविद्-अभियानी लोकनिक योगदान सँ एहेन सुखद अवसर सोझाँ आबि सकल अछि। तहिना ‘मैथिली लेखक संघ, पटना’क अगुवाई मे आयोजित “मैथिली लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल” जे विगत किछु वर्ष सँ मैथिली भाषाक वैश्वीकरणक उद्देश्य सँ आयोजित कयल जाइत अछि, ओहि परिकल्पना केँ आगू बढ़ेबाक लेल एहि आयोजन केँ बुझल जा सकैत अछि। स्वयं मैथिली लेखक संघ आयोजक बनथि, अर्थ जुटाबथि, लेखक-विद्वान् लोकनि केँ बजाबथि आ फेर भारत वा अन्यत्र अलग-अलग स्थान पर आयोजन करथि, ई सहज नहि छैक। तेँ प्रवासी समुदाय, जिनका मे अपन भाषा-संस्कृतिक महत्व खुब बढियाँ सँ ज्ञात भ’ गेल रहैत छन्हि, हुनका सभक सामुहिकता आ एकजुटता सँ ‘मैथिली लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल’ आयोजित हो, ई सोच दिल्ली मे आयोजित ‘चारिम आयोजन’ मे भेटल किछु कटु अनुभव उपरान्तहि सँ आयल से हमरा स्मृति मे अबैत अछि। एकर पहिल प्रयोग मुम्बई मे कयल गेल, ओहिठाम सँ प्रवासी मैथिल समाजक संस्था लोकनिक जिम्मेदारी पर समर्पित सत्र राखि चर्चा सेहो कयल गेल छल। एहि चर्चा मे शाश्वत मिथिला, अहमदाबाद सहित हैदराबाद, जनकपुर (नेपाल), दिल्ली, विराटनगर (नेपाल), पटना, बंगलुरु, मुम्बई, वीरगंज (नेपाल) आदिक सहभागिता मे विशद् विमर्श भेल छल। वैदेही मिथिलाधाम वडोदरा (गुजरात) द्वारा प्रथम जिबन्त (साकार) स्वरूप प्रस्तुत होबय जा रहल देखि हमरा काफी सन्तोष भेल, मानू जेना देखल सपना साकार भ’ रहल अछि।
विदित हो जे केवल नाच-गाना या रजनी-सजनी सँ मैथिली-मिथिलाक ओतेक हित नहि भ’ सकल जे ‘मैथिली लेखक संघ, पटना’ द्वारा परिकल्पित ‘मैथिली लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल” सँ भ’ रहल अछि। पटना सँ आरम्भ ई यात्रा दिल्ली, मुम्बई होइत वडोदराक यात्रा कय रहल अछि। एम्हर नेपाल के जनकपुर मे सेहो २०१६ सँ आरम्भ भ’ प्रत्येक दुइ वर्ष मे एकटा मेगा इवेन्ट, अति विशाल आकार आ सामग्री सब अपना मे समेटिकय भ’ रहल अछि। विराटनगर मे सेहो २०१५ सँ एखन धरि अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय कवि सम्मेलन, अभियन्ता सम्मेलन, शिक्षाविद् सम्मेलन व १७म् अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय मैथिली सम्मेलनक आयोजन कमोवेश विमर्श आधारित सत्र संग सम्पन्न भेल अछि। लक्ष्य भीड़ जुटेबाक नहि, तत्त्वचिन्तन आ तात्त्विक महत्ता जन-जन धरि पहुँचेबाक मात्र रहैत अछि। सहरसा मे सेहो निरन्तर विमर्श आधारित अनेकों कार्यक्रम कयल जा चुकल अछि। भारत सरकारक अधीनस्थक साहित्य अकादमी नई दिल्ली द्वारा सेहो लगभग आब एहि प्रारूप मे चिन्तन-मन्थन केर कार्यक्रम आयोजित कयल जा रहल अछि। तथापि, एहेन सैकड़ों संस्था अछि जे मैथिली-मिथिला केँ एखन धरि ‘रजनी-सजनी’ आ ‘सखी-बहिनक सङ्गोर’ मात्र बुझैत अछि। नहि-नहि! आब बहुत आगू बढ़ि चुकल छी। भाषा-साहित्य मूलाधार थिक हमरा सभक से बुझि चुकल छी। लेखनी, प्रकाशन, पठन-पाठन आ तदनुसार जीवन-आचरण – एहि सब मे मैथिली-मिथिला स्पष्ट भ’ चुकल अछि। आब २-३ वर्ष पछाति ई जड़ि पकड़ि लेत। जमीनक लोक सेहो ‘परदेशिया नाच’ के झमार सँ उबरि जेता आ मैथिली अपन माटि-पानि केँ पुनः मृदुल-सृदुल बना देत।
ऐँ यौ! त वडोदरा मे होयत कि सब?
जी! वडोदरा मे ‘मैथिली लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल’ केर एक अन्य ‘रूप’ प्रदर्शित होयत। एतय बहुते रास पुरने चाउर पथ्यरूप मे त रहबे करता, स्थानीय गुजरात मे रहल एक सँ एक साधक आ निजभाषा उन्नति लेल समर्पित अभियन्ता, कवि, लेखक, साहित्यकार आ विभिन्न सरोकारवाला सब रहता। विमर्श होयत। चर्चा हेतैक तखन न बात दूर तक जेतैक। मुम्बई मे नहि देखने रहियै? केहेन-केहेन बज्र सेहो मोम जेकाँ पिघलि रहल छल। तुही-तुही भ’ रहल छल। भाषाक मीठ एहेन जे सभक मुंह सँ लेड़ चुबि रहल छलैक। रूपवीर बंगला दुलहिन जेकाँ सजल छलैक। तहिना वडोदरा सजल भेटत। आर…. एतुका विमर्शक केन्द्र मे रहत निम्न बात सबः
उद्घाटन समारोह आ पुस्तक विमोचन सँ आरम्भ भ मैथिली कथाक उद्भव-विकास, मैथिली भाषा-साहित्यक संरक्षणक आवश्यकता एवं उपादेयता, मैथिली भाषाक मानकीकरणक प्रयोजन एवं स्थिति, मैथिली भाषा-साहित्यक विकास आ संरक्षण मे प्रवासी मैथिल संस्थाक योगदान, मैथिली कविताक विकास यात्रा: ऐतिहासिक एवं सम्प्रतिक स्थिति, काव्य गोष्ठी, मैथिली नाटक मंचन (१७ फरवरी २०२४) केँ आयोजित होयत। तहिना ऐगला दिन १८ फरवरी २०२४ रवि दिन मैथिली उपन्यासक विकास: यात्रा मे समाजक बदलैत चित्र, मैथिली अनुवाद साहित्यक प्रयोजन आ स्थिति, मैथिली सिनेमाक वित्तीयन, गुणवत्ता आ प्रचार-प्रसार, मैथिली आलोचना साहित्य पर विमर्श, मैथिली मे प्रकाशन, पत्र-पत्रिकाक आ पत्रकारिता-व्यवसायक स्थिति, मातृभाषा मे शिक्षा: विषय आ माध्यम, मैथिली लोककला आ लोकसाहित्यक महत्व आ संरक्षण – महराई गायन तथा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम आयोजित होयत। बहुत रास विद्वान लोकनिक संगमस्थली बनत वडोदरा।

The need and utility of preserving the Maithili language
It is great and pleasant news that “Vaidehi Mithiladham, Vadodara, Gujarat”, an important organization of migrant Maithils, is taking appropriate steps for the preservation, promotion and enhancement of Maithili language and literature as well as the entire culture, arts and Maithil characteristics. Organizer Vaidehi Mithiladham (Vadodara, Gujarat) is going to organize “Mithiladham Litfest 2024, 17-18 February 2024′ at SSG Medical College, Main Auditorium Vadodara. The literature festival is set up to convey the inspiration to unite the Maithils with the Maithili speaking community around the world in their language and literature.
Such a pleasant opportunity has come about, thanks to the contributions of writers, poets, cultural activists and campaigners who are always dedicated and at the forefront of the work of Maithili language and literature. Similarly, the “Maithili Literature Festival” organized by ‘Maithili Lekhak Sangh, Patna’ which has been organized for the last few years with the objective of globalization of Maithili language, can be understood as carrying forward the vision. It is not easy for the Maithili Writers Association itself to become an organizer, raise funds, invite writers and scholars and then organize events in different places in India or elsewhere. Therefore, the idea of organizing a Maithili Literature Festival with the collective and solidarity of the overseas/migrant community, who are well aware of the importance of their language and culture, came after some bitter experiences at the fourth event in Delhi I remember. It was first used in Mumbai, where a session dedicated to the responsibilities of the organizations of the overseas Maithili community was held and discussed. The discussion was attended by several organizations belonging from Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Janakpur (Nepal), Delhi, Biratnagar (Nepal), Patna, Bangalore, Mumbai, Birgunj (Nepal) and others. I am quite satisfied to see Vaidehi Mithiladham Vadodara (Gujarat) presenting its first living (realized) form, it is like a dream is coming true.
It is to be noted that only dance and song or Rajni-Sajni could not do as much benefit to Maithili-Mithila as the ‘Maithili Literature Festival” conceived by ‘Maithili Lekhak Sangh, Patna’. Starting from Patna, this journey to Delhi, Mumbai Meanwhile, Janakpur, Nepal, is also hosting a mega event every two years starting from 2016. Biratnagar has also hosted an international poet’s conference since 2015, International Maithil Poets’ Meet-2015, Maithil Social Activists Meet 2016, Academician Conference 2017 and 17th International Maithili Conference 2019 have been organized with almost similar format of having discussion based sessions on contemporary as well as relevant subjects. The goal is not to gather crowds, but to convey philosophy and philosophical importance to the masses. The Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, under the Government of India, is also almost now organizing programs of reflection in this format. We’ve come a long way now. We have already understood that language and literature are our foundation. Writing, publishing, reading and conducting life accordingly is our real worth – Maithili-Mithila has become evident in all these. Now in 2-3 years it will take root. The people of the land will also recover from the frenzy of ‘Pardesiya Nach’ and Maithili will make their soil and water soft again.
So what will happen in Vadodara?
Yes! Another ‘form’ of the ‘Maithili Literature Festival’ will be displayed in Vadodara. Not only will there be many old rice in dietary form, but there will also be one by one seekers in local Gujarat as activists, poets, writers, literary figures and various stakeholders dedicated to the advancement of their own language. There will be a discussion. If there is discussion, then only things will go far. Didn’t you see it in Mumbai? Some thunderbolts were melting like wax. It was becoming a melting ice. The language was so sweet that everyone’s mouths were dripping with tears. Rupveer Bungalow was decorated like a bride. Similarly, Vadodara will be decorated. And…. the following will be at the center of the discussion here:
Starting with the inaugural ceremony and book launch, the origin and development of Maithili fiction, need and utility of preservation of Maithili language and literature, purpose and status of standardization of Maithili language, contribution of migrant Maithili organizations in development and preservation of Maithili language and literature Current Situation, Poetry Session, Maithili Drama Staging (February 17, 2024). Similarly, the next day, Sunday, February 18, 2024, will discuss the development of Maithili novels: changing pictures of society in journey, purpose and status of Maithili translation literature, financing, quality and promotion of Maithili cinema, discussion on Maithili critical literature -Occupational status, Education in mother tongue: subject and medium, importance and preservation of Maithili folk art and folk literature – Maharai singing and cultural programs will be held. Vadodara will become the confluence of many scholars.
