स्वाध्याय

धीरस्तु भोज्यमानोऽपि पीड्यमानोऽपि सर्वदा।
आत्मानं केवलं पश्यन् न तुष्यति न कुप्यति॥९॥
सदा केवल आत्मा केर दर्शन करयवला बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति भोजन करेलापर अथवा पीड़ा पहुँचेला पर नहिये प्रसन्न होइत छथि आर नहिये क्रोधे करैत छथि।
The wise who always see self only, are neither pleased nor get angry whether they are feted or tormented.
(Feted and feasted or tormented, the serene person ever sees the Absolute Self and is thus neither gratified nor angry.)
चेष्टमानं शरीरं स्वं पश्यत्यन्यशरीरवत्।
संस्तवे चापि निन्दायां कथं क्षुभ्येत् महाशयः॥१०॥
अपन कार्यशील शरीर केँ दोसराक शरीरे जेकाँ देखयवला महापुरुष लोकनि केँ प्रशंसा या निंदा केना विचलित कय सकैत अछि!
How can noble men be perturbed by praise or blame who see their bodies alike to others.
(The high-souled person witnesses his own body acting as if it were another’s. As such, how can he be disturbed by praise or blame?)
